I went to this exhibition a few weeks ago. My fried Farah Allibhai was exhibiting. People asked her to describe the work and what it was about, she went into a long explanation about the symbolism of life and death etc. but then also added “or you could say its pieces of green plastic with fairy lights!” Some people looked quite horrified with this, they were really getting into the life and death stuff, but I thought it was great. I just loved the total lack of pretension and honesty. I suppose its pretty obvious from my previous post about The Artists Statement that I am not very tolerant of any kind of pretentiousness. The exhibition was in this lovely new Gallery which opened in February. Farah hates having her photo taken but I forced her into submission.

And, the photo. Well, Farah, I can't see why you'd be camera-shy – you look lovely!
