Hope is the thing with feathers….

by Angela

Finally I did it!  This image has been in my head for a long time. I did several photos but could never get it right. I had given up, then on Sunday I thought I’d have one more go and it worked. This is very rare for me, to have and idea in my head and the for it to come out exactly as I want it.  When  I re-designed my webiste a few months ago this is the image I wanted for the home page but couldn’t manage to do it, now finally its there. Hoorah!!

You've captured the downiness and the more solid feather absolutely beautifully, Angela. Lovely photograph!

love that feather, it's beautiful. Glad you managed to make what you imagined – it's always so much harder than you think, isn't it?!

Thanks everyone for your lovely comments.

Dinah – that link is great. Thanks so much for passing it on. Its good to know that I'm not the only one going round picking up feathers. There is also a beautiful poem on there called Starlings in Winter by Mary Oliver. I'd never heard of her or seen the poem before, I think its going to be in my poetry top 20!
