Long Tailed Tit

Saw these lovely little Long Tailed Tits at Cosmeston Lakes today. I feel like I am ‘glued’ to the computer these days – especially after my Hotmail account was hacked on Tuesday – I’ve had a bit of a stressful week; so a nice walk in Cosmeston was lovely. I think after Blue Tits, Long Tailed Tits are my second favourite little bird. They hang around in little gangs and because they are so small when the roost at night they always huddle in little groups to keep warm. They are very lively so it was difficult to get one sitting still.  Of course I also saw my favourite little bird there too – the Blue Tit.  Today was also the RSPB Big Garden Birdwatch  so I sat for an hour and counted the birds in my own garden after I came back from Cosmeston Lakes. A lovely antidote to computers, nasty hackers, and trying to convince MSN to give me my account back (its still frozen and I am trying to prove to them I am me!)

  1. oh these are adorable!
the same thing cannot be said for hotmail – it is notorious for its hack-ability (I've had about 5 friends with hotmail who've been hacked over the past year…. not nice at all!) I hope you get things sorted soon and can get back tot he birds! (ps we've been watching a pair of eastern spinbills – very pretty little birds with loooooong beaks- feeding on a kangaroo paw growing just outside the kitchen window…. I've not encountered these apparently common birds before, so its been most exciting!)

  2. I know now Ronnie – I've had the Hotmail account since 1995 or so and never had any problems. As soon as I get it back and get the mails I need I am shutting it down. I don't want to go through this again. Eastern Spinebills look very exotic, beautiful colours – lucky you 🙂

  3. such beautiful little birds. I have been trying to attract birds to my balcony (I live in Sheffield City centre – urgh) but all we seem to have got is every pigeon in Sheffield! I had originally bought those fat balls to try and feed the little birds during the snow. Damned pigeons!

  4. Thanks Wendy and Anna.

Wendy – thanks for the Stylish Blogger Award – will check this out now 🙂 Sorry to hear you went through a similar hell to mine. It still continues. I have had my account verified i.e. they have believe I am the legitimate owner of the account and said they will send me a reset link. This was 5 days ago – no link yet and now they are ignoring me 😐

Anna – Have you tried sunflower hearts in a feeder? Birds are very fussy and it takes a while for them to get used to a new feeder, but once they do they'll start coming and tell their friends too 🙂
