Fairtrade Bunting – Fairtrade Fortnight

by Angela

At work we were asked to participate in the Fairtrade Bunting promotion for Fairtrade Fortnight. This is my effort above (I just went berserk with the sewing machine!) and below are all the flags displayed on work. You were provided with a piece of fairtrade cotton and were asked to decorate it. Then this is what they are going to do with all the pieces of bunting:
“When Fairtrade Fortnight’s over, we’re going to stitch all the bunting together in an attempt to break the world record for the longest continual piece of bunting to help tell more people about how Fairtrade cotton protects the livelihoods of cotton farmers and to pressure decision-makers to make trade fairer for cotton farmers in West Africa.”

I buy local as far as possible(don't get me started on imported citrus!)and we now have several Fair Trade coffee brands.
Small steps, right?

Thanks Ronnie. It will be interesting to see if they can break the record.
